Riitta Toro Design

What happened to the Photographer who got bored?
She started designing.

Riitta Toro Design was born out of the passion for recycled materials, conscious ideas of fashion and personal choices.

Throwing away clothes and buying new never appealed to me. Why? First because I hate shopping. I am not so typical female then. Secondly, I wanted to show what you can do if you use fabrics from pre-loved era and how you can have lovely jewellery without reaching cheap China shop online. Yes, you can.

That is how my selection of clothes and jewellery started and it is very exciting area. You never wear anything than unique.

I am still a photographer. However now I photograph mostly my own designs.

Dixie Feather kindly posed for me the outfit for Xmas. All recycled.

Apromodel in Finland stood for my silhuette look.

I worked few occasions with Tashienna Bookal who kindly posed fantastic images of my pom poms.

1960's vibes

I do start posting more Riitta Toro Designs, so keep this blog in mind.
Thank You

The day with Dorian Gray

Dorian Gray (Jason Farries) was preparing his tour to Italy on a summer 2017. I got interested in idea of two faces of Dorian Gray. Jason and me met and discussed abpout the make-up I liked to do for him. It was in my interests to try and create two different looks; the young Dorian and the aged and sinful Dorian. If you know the story of Dorian Gray, you remember how he sold his soul to Devil to gain eternal youth and purity. His portrait in his attic aged and showed his sins but he remained the same charming youthful boy.

In one nice summer day in Banbury who made Dorian Gray alive.

I was born and protected well
Never had to worry
Lived the life of a richman's song
Devoid of distress and sorrow
But all of this was wishful thinking
This life looked so well to me
The perfect picture of myself
Forever never growing old

Dorian Gray is one of my names
All of my stories are written down
I have learned to play the games
And sometimes I am the clown
Dorian Gray is one of my names
All my stories have been told
I have learned to play the games
And I'm never growing old

I had to lock my dreams away
The self-sadistic imagery
The more I ran, the more I lost my sense of dignity
Every day was worse than the last
But still my life went on
In the end God left me with no choice
I had to take the gun

Dorian Gray is one of my names
All of my stories are written down
I have learned to play the games
And sometimes I am the clown
Dorian Gray is one of my names
All my stories have been told
I have learned to play the games
And I'm never growing old

A life so fun of tragedies
A world full of disaster
I will never, never be free
The wheel is turning faste
